Agata Adamczyk

Agata assists international business clients. She provides complex services for foreign companies entering the Polish market. She also helps Polish companies expand abroad.

She negotiates and drafts commercial contracts. She handles joint ventures, as well as sales and purchases of shares or entire businesses. She represents foreign clients in disputes before Polish courts and helps Polish clients before foreign courts. She advises on real estate investments.

She works in English, French and Spanish. In addition to practising in business law firms, Agata has in-house experience as corporate counsel. In 2014, her work won her the prestigious Forbes Professional award.

Agata has successfully completed numerous share sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions. She has also helped many a company founder negotiate articles of asociation and shareholders’ agreements, including in joint-ventures between Polish and foreign entities. Agata has provided advice for family businesses on how to protect the business and the family in the event of death, accident or some other unforeseen event and how to ensure a smooth transition between generations.   

She has negotiated investment loans along with collaterals (promissory notes, bonds, guarantees, mortgages, registered pledges or charges on inventories and whole companies). For her French and American clients, Agata handled the negotiations for the sale of industrial properties in Łódź and for a factory construction investment in Niepołomice. She has represented business parties in negotiating leases for office and retail spaces. She has advised investors on technological start-up financing projects. She has drafted and negotiated IT system implementation contracts and software licensing agreements.

Agata has represented clients in contract litigation and disputes arising from shareholder conflicts. In her more than 20 years of practising law, Agata has drafted and reviewed hundreds of contracts in commercial law.   

She is a member of the AIJA — the International Association of Young Lawyers — bringing together more than 4000 legal practitioners from more than 90 countries, and is the serving Vice President of its International Business Law Commission. She participates actively in Legalmondo — a platform for publishing legal articles by experts from a number of countries.

Agata Adamczyk is a graduate of Jagiellonian University in Cracow, the Columbus School of Law in Washington and the summer of school of the University of Montpelier in France. She has completed post-diploma studies in French business law co-organized by the Faculty of Law, Economics and Management of the University of Orleans and Jagiellonian University. She is currently attending the School of Spanish Law similarly co-organized by the University of Granada, Spain, and Jagiellonian University.

In her free time, Agata pursues yoga, skiing and horse riding.
